Sense Sonnet - Acher

 Given and Received

Mrs. Brown caught me skipping school,

On the day before Valentine's Day.

My teacher was strict as a rule,

So I pondered about a way

To maybe soften her up some.

With all of my allowance, I

Bought a valentine to her from

Me and an assorted supply

Of candy, plus a bouquet of

Red roses, hoping all of this

Would show her my respectful love,

And she would overlook my miss.

What Mrs. Brown gave me was bad.

It was a note to Mom and Dad.
