Sense Sonnet - Acher
The Old Tree
Ten thousand years, the old tree stood.
Now branches and trunk twisted by
Forces upon, both bad and good.
As new day dawns, looked to the sky,
Thanking great Mother Nature for
All of her blessings she did give
Upon the tree, as humans more
Sapped from this tree the will to live,
Polluting and destroying earth
Until the old tree's time at last
Came to an end of fulfilled worth,
And hopeful usefulness had passed.
The old tree, as for centuries done,
Welcomes one last dawn's rising sun.
