Said and did a lot for the good.

But petty J.F.K. could be.

His inaugural ball, he would

Disinvite a famous man who

Was black, married to woman white,

And Sammy Davis Jr. knew

Hurt of a presidential slight.

No public apology from

Kennedy for his pettiness.

Forgiveness from Sammy did come.

Did Kennedy care more or less?
