Sense Sonnet - Steamer

 Pearly

He'd always say, "Pearly's been true,"

That he loved me more than his wine.

But down deep I'm sure that he knew

That he was sure no love of mine.

He spent most of a life of crime,

Complaining others gave him blame,

So in jail he's most of the time,

Wondering why I never came

To visit him, well truth is why,

Cuz I had better plans than be

Having to listen to him lie.

Better off without him be me.

"Pearly's been true," he always said

Till that miserable bum dropped dead.
