Sense Sonnet - Acher
Sent to Me this Night
The road above me, humans drive
And often hit wildlife up there,
And when hit, no longer alive.
Sometimes the humans think to share
Those bodies of wildlife, now dead,
Pushing them off the road to fall
Down the canyon and be instead,
Now with me, and I take them all.
And now this night I take a deer,
Pushed by a human from above,
Now fated to stay with me here,
Which I accept with nature's love.
A dead mother with unborn child,
Now going with this river wild.
