 Color Cast

I look across the vast lake to

Foothills and mountain range in sight.

The sky, clouds, snow and water do

Make brilliant colors, blue and white.

The blue sky reflects in the lake,

As also do white clouds and snow.

The blue in the sky can also make

The mountains appear blue to show,

Except the parts snow covered and

The foothills all snow covered, such

Competing with clouds white o'er spanned.

The brilliant blues and whites, so much.

Lost in the whites and blues be brown,

Faraway shoreline seems to frown.
