Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Dire Wolf

The dire wolf did roam long ago

Across the Americas land,

Ferocious beast as white as snow,

Instinctive skill at its command

To be a hunter, quick and sure,

Chasing down prey, providing meat

For needed diet to secure

Giving strength for foes to defeat.

Extinction was the dire wolf fate.

Climate, humans, loss of prey,

Reasons the experts still debate

Why dire wolves are not here today.

But researchers have now made known

The dire wolf is back as a clone.
