Sense Sonnet - Acher
Given Away
His daughter, I walked down the aisle
Escorted by one, not my Dad.
A bride, I had a happy smile,
For me, not a day to be sad.
His daughter becoming a wife,
But my Dad could not escort me.
He was not present in my life,
A substitute needed to be.
A fateful happening was why,
That Dad could not be at my side.
Good organs were donated by
Him long ago when Dad died.
But at my wedding, Dad was part,
In my escort, Dad's beating heart.
