Sense Sonnet - Acher
The Unknown Stuntman
I was a stuntman called on to
Take his place any time when he
Had a public event to do,
With too much risk and then went me.
I could be made up to look so
Much like him I could be his twin.
So often in his place I'd go,
And look and talk just like him then.
Of course the war caused lots of strife.
Danger to him indeed was great,
So many threats made on his life.
I was trained, but intervened fate.
Because I was sick in bed that day,
Abe Lincoln himself went to the play.
