Sense Sonnet - Acher

 Homeward Unbound

From Mom and Dad I got the word,

Was time to leave the nest, my home.

I was now an old enough bird,

The sky awaited me to roam.

Of course I chirped my feared of dreads

Of taking off all on my own.

But Mom and Dad just shook their heads.

They wanted to spend time alone.

A loving push they gave to me,

And I was falling to the ground.

But then my wings spread out to be

Propelling me skyward up bound.

I could see Mom and Dad below.

I guess they were right - time to go.
