"I'm Yankee Doodle do or die,"
American soldiers would sing.
'Twas patriotic  rally cry
During the Revolution thing.
But Yankee Doodle was first used
By the British in mockery
Of colonist soldiers infused
All with show offish foolery.
So the colonists did in turn
Reappropriate the term to
Make the fighting spirit more churn -
Show what a Yankee Doodle do!

I'm "Yankee Doodle" was each sender
When the British did surrender.
