Guy Fawkes Day

November fifth, sixteen oh five,
A plot to overthrow the king,
Guy Fawkes was caught, taken alive,
Charge of treason England did bring.
Tortured, Guy Fawkes did confess all,
His co-conspirators were caught.
At the hanging, Guy Fawkes did fall,
So actually hanged he was not.
His lifeless body nonetheless
Was drawn and quartered, parts thrown to
Four corners of England to stress
What would happen to traitors - true!

Guy Fawkes lives on in morbid way,
November fifth - a holiday.
