Sense Sonnet - Acher

Thomas Andrews

Thomas Andrews, chief architect,
For the ship building firm that made
R.M.S. Titanic erect,
And "unsinkable was its grade.
On the maiden voyage he sailed,
And summoned to the bridge the night
The hull of the ship was impaled
By an iceberg, with sinking plight.
Many to save, lifeboats too few,
Women and children first to save.
Andrews helped do what he could do.
Titanic sank to final grave.

Last seen weeping as the ship downed,
And his body was never found.
