Percy Spencer's main claim to fame -
Invented a new oven known
As the microwave which became
A thing that now most households own.
One day in 1944,
Spencer at work at Raytheon,
In front of radar stood before
And noticed a phenomenon.
In his pocket a candy bar
Had melted due to microwave.
Raytheon deemed Spencer a star
And a good job promotion gave.

Raytheon got the patent, and
Spencer got a job well done hand.
