Sense Sonnet - Pumper

American Pharoah

When I was young, my tail got bit.
Some said that I should get a weave.
My given name - they misspelled it.
But through it all I did believe
That I was born and bred to win,
And take the crown so many sought.
So very young, I did begin,
Short tailed to go for the long shot.
And then in June, twenty fifteen,
Across the finish I did stride,
Was number one on the world scene.
Others went along for the ride.

American Pharoah is me.
The Triple Crown Winner I be.
