Bob Schieffer lasted long and well
As a newscaster on T.V.
On CBS his lips did tell
The news the network chose to be.
Cronkite and company long gone,
The "eye" had lost a lot of watch.
The ratings ruled what "news" went on,
And hoped the caster did not botch.
And Bob botched less than others did,
And lasted through the changing times,
When ethics about the news slid,
And lips did mouth so many crimes.

Have a happy retirement, Bob.
Some younger lips will get your job.
