Tale of the Neck

I'm an ostrich - why my long neck?
Inquiring humans want to know.
Well let me tell you - what the heck!
It's becuz of a tornado.
One day I was digging for worms.
My feet got stuck under a rock.
Oh, I was cussing nasty terms.
But I was lucky for that lock.
A big bad twister blew at me,
And tugged like crazy at my head.
My bod stayed stuck and safe I be,
But I got one long neck instead.

Hard to believe - yes I admit.
Perhaps I ostretch it a bit.
