Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Massasauga Saga - LP Zoo

I'm an endangered rattlesnake,
An eastern massasauga call.
At the Lincoln Park Zoo I make
My hatchday with my siblings all
Of note are my vibrant blue eyes.
But they will fade with my first shed.
And my rattles will grow in size
And noise as I shed skin ahead.
I have some venomous fangs, yes.
But humans are not my choice bite.
That would be yum rodents, I guess.
Don't step on me, you'll be all right.

So come and see me at the Zoo,
And I will rattle just for you.
