Sense Sonnet - Steamer

Illannoying

Illinois Governor, Pat Quinn,
Submitted his state budget, so
Hard but "honest", the gov did spin,
Why he's oft called Quinnochio.
"Tough pill to swallow," Quinn did say
To the dummies that buy his biz.
"Shall we stop this bleeding?" Dismay!
Lincoln asked. No Lincoln Quinn tiz.
Need pension reform for its squeeze,
Like a python, Quinn's pet mascot,
For telling taxpayers, oh please,
Gimme cash - more of what you've got.

As the same old song Quinn did sing,
His fellow snakes kept slithering.
