Sense Sonnet - Tickler

Caloric Love

In young love, we often eat less,
Because of churning love hormones,
Expending energy, we guess,
To keep in touch by hands and phones.
But once together long enough,
We tend to spend less energy
On all of the romantic stuff,
So love hormones can turn fatty.
In old love, we often eat more.
The love hormones have less to do.
We send each other to the store.
Food has replaced the angst of woo.

Are love hormones a diet sought?
Just a little less food for thought.
