Colors on Course

I was discovered on a rock,
Sun bathing in a lounging way.
My multi colored skin - a shock -
Orange, purple, yellow, black array.
Psychedelica is the name
That I am given to be known
As I pursued fortune and fame
Like my cousin of drabber tone
Who got the part I should have had.
When I found out I'd not been cast,
I fired my agent, but I'm glad
This gecko's time has come at last.
