Beware Unilateral Parents

I am a single parent of
A teenage child, and so of course,
I am concerned parental love
Might not be enough to enforce
My efforts to convince my kid
That laws are written to protect
From harm, and not just to forbid.
Often parents seem to neglect
The fact that underage drinking
Is unlawful and should not be
Condoned due to parents thinking -
Better at home than on a spree.

Other parents should not just choose
Whether or not my child drinks booze.
