 Assisted Living

Taking a shower is routine,

Told me by authority voice,

Must be maintained my good hygiene,

Wanted or not, I have no choice.

In the shower allowed alone,

As long as I do what I need

To do the job all on my own.

Though checked how well I do the deed.

For getting old, my time and place

Is in this nursing home to be

Where I am just another case,

Waiting for death to come for me.

Shadow on the frosted glass wall,

The nurse's aide, in case I fall.
