Sense Sonnet - Steamer

 The Bendable Law

The Constitution taught to me,

A white kid, in school long ago,

Sounded a good document be,

Its benefits, all I did know.

But through my years, I saw and heard

A lot of controversy came

When the Constitution's last word,

The Supreme Court said, was held to blame

For wrongs and injustices done

To fellow We the People who

Did feel the ideals once begun,

The Constitution did undo.

The U.S. Constitution ideal,

For many We the People, unreal.
