Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Tongue Lasher

I'm in the Savannah for lunch,

Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.

And while I eat, watched by a bunch

Of human visitors, all who

Seem quite impressed with the length of

My twenty inch long tongue that I

Grab the acacia leaves I love.

Each tongue lash grabs a good supply.

Dark purple blue my tongue does be,

Protecting from burn of the sun.

I watch the humans watching me,

This giraffe, a crowd favorite one.

I note tall Chicago skyline,

And none have tongues as long as mine!
