Brian Piccolo loved the game

Of football, and he played it well.

Chicago bear, Brian became,

Backed up Gale Sayers, time would tell

The two became best friends, both on

And off the field, though Gale did be

The superstar phenomenon,

He treated Brian equally.

It was diagnosed that Brian had

Cancer, spreading too fast inside.

Family, friends and fans were sad,

Only 26, Brian died.

"And 'round that early laurelled head,"

Brian Piccolo, too soon dead.
