Sense Sonnet - Acher
Even Against Odds
Walking along the sidewalk, I
Notice what I've noticed before.
Out of a sidewalk crack, ants try
A destroyed ant hill to restore.
The ants must realize that fact
Of passersby will surely be
A constant threat the ants will meet,
Working in this locality.
But yet it seems that once ants choose
The time and place for an ant hill,
No matter hills the ants do lose,
Rebuild again as the ants will.
The ants follow instinctive plan,
Like gamblers, toss the dice again.
