Sense Sonnet - Pumper
My Shell I Tell
Sea mollusk, nautilus, I be
Especially proud of my shell,
Strong, pressure resistant 'round me,
Multi chambered in which I dwell.
Dark top, hard to see from above,
Giving it a dark water blend.
But shell bottom camouflaged of
White, a surface water pretend.
So threats from above or below
Most often don't become aware,
Since to them as water I show,
Go their way, leaving me safe there.
But if attacked I can retreat
Inside my shell and close it neat.
