Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 My Purpose Fulfilled

The bakery's open late at night.

Since early morn here on the shelf

I've sat as others, left and right,

All have gone and I'm by myself.

My comrades succeed but I fail.

I have to wonder how and why,

Sitting alone and growing stale.

In sprinkle spurts I start to cry.

I feel the hole within me get

Bigger and emptier I am.

The shop door opens, there's hope yet,

As the excitement fills my jam.

This donut leaves the bakery shop,

Late night snack for on duty cop.
