Sense Sonnet - Chiller
Outer Beauty and Inner Beast
In the late sixteenth century
Elizabeth Bathory who
A Hungarian countess be
Was renowned for her beauty true.
For her youthful beauty to stay,
Maidens to the countess were brought,
Each of whom she'd torture and slay,
And take the blood from each she got
To fill a bath, which she'd soak in,
From many maidens, young and fresh,
Committing such atrocious sins,
Preserving beauty of her flesh.
The countess of body and mind
With both beauty and beast combined.
