Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Trip Through the Trees
Through a forest of white birch trees
A well worn pathway there does be,
Allowing the passage through with ease
For all who be afoot like me.
I remember well first time that
I walked this pathway finding out
This be a favored habitat
For moose to be in and about.
I encountered a young moose calf,
Got too close, and then Mama came.
Maybe both of them had a laugh
As fast escape was my prime aim.
And so my lesson of the day,
Any moose has the right of way.
