Sense Sonnet - Chiller
Last Laugh
Laughing at my mistake I'd heard
Was a way to lengthen my life,
But shorten it could be assured,
Laughing at mistakes of my wife.
So when my wife made a mistake,
As she was often prone to do,
And it was funny for gosh sake,
I'd laugh later, she never knew.
But then that later came one day
When I laughed, but unknown to me,
She overheard, to my dismay,
My last living mistake to be.
I laugh at my mistake I made,
As into the ground I am laid.
