Sense Sonnet - Chiller

 Said and Done

"Cat got your tongue?" I oft would hear

You say to me when you thought I

Was too quiet when I'd appear,

And just stare at you from nearby.

But now for two days you've not said

A word to me and never will,

Cuz from old age you just dropped dead

On the kitchen floor where you're still.

Just the two of us in the house.

I can't find any food about.

None store bought and nary a mouse.

But there you lie, tongue hanging out.

Yes, this cat's got your tongue, old sweet,

Cuz I'm hungry and gotta eat.
