Sense Sonnet - Steamer

 Frustrated

A scarlet tanager, I've heard

Is a rarity to be seen

By humans, and so when this bird

Is spotted, I am 'twixt and 'tween

This human him and lovely her,

Who I am trying to impress

With my song and dance that should sure

Win over my hoped for mate, yes!

I give the human guy a good

Pose to take a picture of me,

Then maybe this human guy would

Go away and not a distraction be.

The human guy finally moves on,

But now my hope for mate has gone.
