Sense Sonnet - Steamer

 The Witness Crow

I was on a bench in a park,

Penning a poem meant to be

Of a lost love so sad and dark,

Sought to be penned like Poe by me.

Then I heard a "caw" from above

On a tree branch a crow I saw,

Witnessing me pen of lost love,

And the crow continued to "caw."

I finished up my poem while

The crow kept on with its critique.

Was it my rhyme, was it my style

That gave this witnessing crow pique?

To this wannabe poet Poe,

"Ever bore," quoth the witness crow.
