 Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is first day of Lent,

Forty six days to Easter when

I am reminded to repent,

And ask forgiveness for my sin.

On this day upon my forehead

A cross made of ash is there placed,

Reminder that when I am dead,

My body back to ash will waste.

But because my sin, God forgave

Taken by Jesus to the cross.

My mortal soul Jesus did save,

And heaven bound from earthly loss.

Ash Wednesday is reminder of

My salvation with Jesus' love.
