Sense Sonnet - Acher
No Weakness Shown
I grew up in a time and place
When it was deemed a weakness to
Have others see upon my face
Any crying that I would do.
So when I was five years old, I
Was with my dog, Rusty, alone
When he died, I wanted to cry,
Allowing my sadness be shown.
But the rest of the family
Came out to the back patio
Where my Rusty and I did be.
So my sadness I would not show.
No way I'd let weakness appear.
So from my eyes I wiped all tear.
