Sense Sonnet - Pumper
As Water Flows
For centuries on the estate
Cascading waterfalls are spilt
Through lovely gardens quite ornate.
An English privileged rich man built,
A widower rich from dead wife
And from the bribes collected in
Public office all of his life,
Just one of many greedy men
Who build monuments to oneself,
Then retire and selfishly view
The waters falling shelf to shelf,
Shared only with those well to do.
National Trust Estate now be,
Allowing common folk to see.
