Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Namib Desert
Twelve hundred miles of desert sand
Along Africa's southern coast,
Eons meeting water and land.
Inland erosion causing most
Of rock turned sand and pushed to go
Toward the Atlantic Ocean way
By wind and rivers in a flow,
Forming works of art on display
Of massive dunes of reddish hue,
Because of iron oxide within
Striking against the ocean blue,
Results of ancient origin.
The Namib desert, time and place
Along the Atlantic does grace.
