Sense Sonnet - Acher
Need to Keep Talking
My heart and my brain did discuss
Which one was doing their job best.
"Surely between the two of us,"
"I'm more vital," heart did attest.
Brain replied, "Most certainly not."
"Without me sending signals, you"
"Would be a dumb pump without thought,"
"Purpose in life, you'd have no clue."
Irked heart replied, "Without my blood,"
"You would no thoughts, good or bad,"
"And just be one gray lumpy dud."
"I have the pep you wish you had."
Between the two no more was said.
When they stopped talking, I was dead.
