 View of Victory

Whether or not a cause be good,

And whether a battle should be fought,

Often differently understood.

Being victorious is not

Necessarily what is right.

Many victors in history

Who won their cause in righteous might,

Did turn out very wrong to be.

Example is the U.S.A.,

A nation promising ideal,

But often acts in such a way

To win by being wrong for real.

Whether or not good victory

Is in eyes of the victor be.
