Sense Sonnet - Acher
For Mama
Each year on my birthday I bring
Mama's favorite flowers to her.
The abandoned house holds something
Shared by Mama and me for sure.
The two of us lived here alone.
While raising me she worked two jobs.
The surest love I've ever known
Given by Mama by the gobs.
When grown up, to Mama I gave
Her a world cruise as a thank you.
Now each birthday some time I save
For flowers on the porch to do.
My Mama, she was lost at sea,
But on this porch I feel she be.
