Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Ambrosia
It was a time I'd never seen.
My land was hard and dry from drought.
There was no growing of crops green.
Farm bankruptcy did loom no doubt.
I had no need for money, and
The banker did agree with me.
No rain to buy to save my land.
All would be well when rain would be.
I did pray and did curse a lot,
As each next day just came and went,
Bringing forth each night dry and hot.
But then I felt drops, heaven sent.
Money saved not the land I love.
Ambrosia rained from skies above.
