 I Wonder

I've often wondered whether God

Does visit worship structures built,

For in God's name to praise and laud,

And fancy over shame and guilt.

The huge cathedrals, wood and stone,

With ornaments of jewels and gold,

Artistic stained glass windows shown,

Material stuff bought and sold.

Preachings be preached and songs be sung

By worshippers in Sunday best.

But I wonder if God's among

These showoffs on God's day of rest.

Outside under nature's design

Is where I pray to the Divine.
