Lend a hand to a drowning "guy."

An urban legend spread a lot -

For past wrong, Collins hated him,

Or maybe Collins would have tried,

But maybe Collins could not swim.

Collins said all of these tales lied.

But he did like the mystery

Of what his song was all about.

So for a very long time he

Just left ev'rybody in doubt.

Later the truth came out of course,

Collins sang blues 'bout his divorce.
