When an artist decides to do

A work of art, the artist be

Torn 'twixt and 'tween vice and virtue.

Which is most motivatingly

In control of the artist's mind

And heart and soul to take to hand

The work of art to be designed,

The outcome the artist has planned?

Virtue and vice, each make their case

To persuade the artist which way

To create in this time and place.

Will vice or will virtue display?

Vice and virtue always compete.

Which one will make the art complete?
