 Spiritual Pride

There was a time when I would quote

Lots of Bible chapter and verse

When I thought that I needed note

I was better, others were worse.

So pious and self righteous, I

Took any opportunity

My take on scripture to apply,

Even though often wrong I'd be.

One day another's car I hit.

I fogged my wrong with Bible speak.

Who was more spiritually fit?

The other driver turned her cheek.

Now I seek more toleration.

My Bible thumping days are done.
