Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Speaking in Tongues
The snakes do use their tongues so that
They sense what's on ground and in air,
To better know their habitat,
What good and bad is now to share.
The snakes' eyesight and hearing is
Quite poor and so to compensate,
Their tongues do most of sensing biz
So they can fully acclimate.
The snakes flick their tongues in and out,
Transferring data through a gland,
And to clarify any doubt,
The brain ponders to understand.
The snakes have tongues that truly speak
Of information they might seek.
