Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Portuguese Man of War

A hydroid colony afloat,
Going wherever currents take.
This unique marine living boat
Works as one for survival sake.
Long tentacles can cause a sting,
Whether be predator or prey.
Offense or defense moves to bring
A good for the colony way.
Floating is done by a balloon,
Filled with gases from inside made.
If decided as opportune,
Deflate commands can be relayed.

Thanks to sailing humans of yore,
Named the Portuguese Man of War.
