Migratory Hatch - LP Zoo

Black crowned night heron chicks do hatch
In nests at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Always hungry, the chicks do snatch
All selections on the menu,
That the bird parents have flown in
As nourishment to fill the bill,
Then repeated over again,
Parental duties to fulfill.
The parents often leave the nest
To find the food their young to feed,
So that the chicks will thrive their best
To ready to fly forth indeed.
